Introducing: Miss Harwood - Forest School Lead for Bobbing and Iwade - Level 3 Trained Forest School Therapeutic Practitioner
Hello My name is Miss Harwood, and I am the Forest School Lead for Iwade Community Primary School and Bobbing Village School. I currently teach years 1,3 and 5 from both Bobbing and Iwade. I am sure that most of the children will all know me already as I have worked within the trust with both Bobbing and Iwade Children for the last 7 years.
I qualified as a Forest School Leader 4+ years ago and gained my Level 3 Forest School Practitioner Qualification. I then enjoyed setting up a new Forest School Site based within the grounds at Iwade School and progressing my career further by completing the following courses:
- A Qualification with the Therapeutic Forest 'Therapeutic Skills for Outdoor Leaders' and a 2nd Course with them focusing on 'Woodwork for Well being'
- Outdoor 2 Day First Aid Qualification (Renewed 11/2023)
-Outdoor Food Safety Qualification (Renewed 07/2024)
-Outdoor Yoga with the Therapeutic Forest
Therapeutic Forest School Leaders are qualified Forest School Leaders who have received training from a multidisciplinary team on therapeutic skills in the outdoors.
As a Therapeutic Forest School Leader, I have received training and ongoing clinical support from a multidisciplinary therapy team including Clinical Psychologists, Play Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists.
We want the children to feel at ease when attending their Forest School Sessions, so please, if you have any questions, forward them on to the school office on iwade@ba-mat.org.uk and one of the Forest School Team will be happy to help.
Hello, I am Mrs Saul. I am a Level 3 Trained and a Qualified Forest School Leader. I have been qualified for around 3 years now. I am new to Iwade and I will be starting my new role January 2024 at the beginning of term 3. I will be supporting daily alongside Miss Harwood up at the Forest School Site teaching children in years 1,3 and 5 from both Bobbing and Iwade. I am very grateful to have received this opportunity and to be able to now share my love of the outdoors and ignite the children's curiosity about the natural world. I am looking forward to starting and helping Miss Harwood develop and progress the Forest School Area further.
A fun fact about me would be that... I have a diploma in Circus Skills.
Hello, I am Miss Smith. I work within Iwade School as a 1:1 TA mainly with children who need that little extra support at times. I enjoy a challenge and thrive when supporting children who display challenging behaviour to support them in making the right choices. In my spare time, I like to help the Forest School Team with the planning, activities and ideas for the children to enjoy during their Forest School Sessions. I am a very creative and fun individual, and I enjoy attending the Forest Sessions and being outdoors whenever the opportunity arises.
Hello, I am Mrs Darragh. I love nothing more than to wrap up in the freezing cold and pouring rain and take my lovely dog for long winter walks. The muddier we get the better!
I work with the year 3 children in Sky Community and also with the Forest School Team on a regular basis. I have spent many hours on the Forest School Site with Miss Harwood so I know how the sessions run and what the children enjoy. This makes me a valuable member of the Forest School Team.
